PHS auxiliaries raise funds to supplement government funding to the Service,
enabling provision of special services to PHS patients, their families
and carers. These may include establishing support groups for people who
have lost a child or spouse, providing patients with a 'last wish' where
possible, the purchase or hire of special equipment, or paying for needed
drugs.

Almost as important, our auxiliaries spread the word about the Service
and what it offers. Auxiliary members come from a variety of backgrounds
and age groups, but all have a shared desire to meet people and make a
difference
