CONSULTANCY

PHS Aged Care Facility Support via Consultancy.

PHS Nursing Consultancy support residents and staff of Residential Aged Care Facilities within our geographical area (Mornington Peninsula Shire, City of Frankston and parts of the City of Kingston).

The aim of the consultancy is to provide specialist assessment to residents and assist staff in Residential Aged Care Facilities to provide palliative care. The consultancy support and education aims to help staff implement "The Guidelines for a Palliative Approach in Residential Aged Care" developed by the Commonwealth Government.

Consultancy includes specialist assessment, the development of palliative care plans for residents and staff education and the opportunity for residential aged care staff to debrief with trained PHS counsellors if necessary. Feedback indicates that residents have experienced improved quality of life and staff feel greater satisfaction and confidence in caring for residents and supporting their families.
