Film, Fish and Fundraising

Nepean Friends of Hospice (one of PHH's volunteer fundraising groups within the community) recently held its Annual Film and Fish night at the beautiful Athenaeum Theatre in Sorrento with great success despite the winter weather.

Over 240 supporters braved the elements to enjoy a private screening of "The Sense of an Ending" (based on the 2011 novel written by British author Julian Barnes) while tucking into the finger licking goodness of fabulous fish and chips supplied by Harry and the gang at Fish Fetish across the road (all delivered hot, steamy and cooked to perfection). The glass of wine and choc top ice cream capped the night off wonderfully.

Thanks to the generous support of those who attended (and the hard work of this energetic group of fundraising volunteers), ticket and raffle sales generated $6910 for PHH, with all funds raised directly supporting those in our community who are living with a life threatening illness and choosing to receive palliative care in their home.

Tickets to the Elvis Presley show in Melbourne were auctioned off by Don Campbell and all winners loved their raffle prizes. Sincere thanks must be extended to David Croad at the Athenaeum and to all of those who came along and supported the efforts of Nepean Friends of Hospice.
